Dubai-based airline Flydubai Starts Regular Flights to Cairo

Flydubai, a Dubai-based airline, has announced the launch of services to Cairo. The daily service to Cairo’s Sphinx International Airport (SPX) will begin on October 28, 2023. It will help meet the growing demand for flights between Cairo and Dubai.

With the introduction of daily flights to Cairo, the airline will provide the Egyptian market with 17 weekly flights, including daily flights to Alexandria Borg El Arab International Airport (HBE). Flydubai’s African coverage has grown to 12 destinations with the addition of Cairo and Mombasa to its expanding network.

Regarding the launch, Chief Commercial Officer Hamad Obaidalla stated, “We are pleased to announce the start of operations to Cairo from October. Flydubai is committed to creating free flows of trade and tourism between countries and enabling more people to travel conveniently and more often.”

He also thanked the authorities for supporting inaugurating operations at Cairo’s Sphinx International Airport. Additionally, he expressed his anticipation of witnessing the steady traffic growth at this new entry point to the city in the coming years.

The Sphinx International Airport is just 45 kilometers from the Pyramids of Giza on the route connecting Cairo and Alexandria. The airport serves the residents of Greater Cairo districts and the governorates of Fayoum and Beni Suif. It is close to Egypt’s most important archaeological and historical sites and provides access to Red Sea resorts such as Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada.
