The highly anticipated visit of Bhutan’s King to India has commenced with a series of engagements in Guwahati. As part of the trip, King is scheduled to visit Kaziranga and Jorhat before concluding his visit to New Delhi on Sunday.
As per official sources, the King will arrive at Lokpriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport on Friday afternoon. He will first visit the famous Kamakhya Temple and will then interact with the Bhutanese Community at a local hotel.
The main highlight of the visit will be a special dinner hosted in honor of the King by the Assam Governor, Gulab Chand Kataria, at Raj Bhawan. The following morning, he will fly to Jorhat for a visit to Kaziranga National Park.

Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, also expressed the excitement of the Assamese people about the King’s first visit to their state. CM Sarma also emphasized the strong relationship between the two countries in the fields of knowledge and education.
“Tomorrow, we in Assam, eagerly look forward to welcoming His Majesty, the King of Bhutan on his first official visit to our state. This visit will further deepen the friendship between the two countries,” Sarma said on X (Twitter).
Just a few days ago, the Royal Bhutan Ambassador, Major General Vetsop Namgyel, met with Sarma. The visit of Bhutan’s King to India is a significant occasion that will strengthen the bonds between India and Bhutan.
